‘Reap From the Dying Love‘ is the second single from London based indie-rockers Bambi, due for release November 17th on Right Track Records. The band hasn’t been around long, but is already making waves in the alt-rock scene.
The single contains a certain ethereal quality, with gentle, flowing guitar and synth melodies combining with the softly spoken lyrics. Singer James has the perfect voice to suit the expert backing track. The emotion he conjures doesn’t feel forced, but natural and honest, fitting perfectly with the reverb, heavy guitar frolicking. The song builds up at all the right moments before dropping the listener back down to earth with a catchy chorus; it’s a sure fire cert to be a radio favourite.
The B-side is a superb live recording of another track, ‘A Just Nor Fix’, another expertly dreamy affair, which echoes The Temper Trap. It’s a little too similar to the single to suggest Bambi are the finished article just yet. But give these guys an album and there’s surely enough here to suggest they’ll break the mainstream. Watch out for these guys, as they’ll only get better.
