It’s been a hectic few months for the guys in Times Red having played a multitude of shows and festivals, releasing their debut EP ‘Just No Good For Me’ in March and signing a record deal.
Times Red are set to release their debut album and have recently released their new single ‘Not Listening’ to plenty of positive reaction.
Hailing from London, the band is made up of lead vocalist/guitarist Scott Ritchie, Staz Nair on keys and beatboxer Luke White. The trio came together to create music that consists of live instruments all threaded together with bundles of harmony and melody.
Having already been compared to acts such as The Script and Maroon 5, it is clear they are one of few acts that will manage to mix pop influenced songwriting with guitar riffs, and end up being a mainstay in the charts.
After first appearing on The X Factor last year, it seems these guys don’t need the approval of Simon Cowell, as they are set to make it on their own merit with songs they have written themselves. The quality stage performances they effortless deliver, caught the eye of Eric Nicoli, head of R&R Music, who signed the guys immediately.
Since then, 3 more members have been added to back up their live sound, they’ve headlined at this year’s 2013 British Grand Prix and released ‘Just No Good For Me’. Times Red also performed at Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park this year, featuring alongside acts such as Jennifer Lopez and Beverly Knight, and performed on stage with Nile Rogers and Chic.
For now though, all attention is on the newly released single ‘Not Listening’. A track which has the upbeat poppy sound reminiscent of acts such as Olly Murs and Bruno Mars. It’s a catchy listen, laced with a rhythm which is bound to have you swaying. The almost happy sounding beat, guitar and harmonies is perfect for the summer and is sure to be on the playlists of many radio DJ’s.
‘Not Listening’ has attracted plenty of media attention from the likes of Teen Now, Cosmo and MTV. With their newly release and energetic live performances (and the desire to do well), surely it means their debut album and upcoming UK tour, will catapult Times Red onto the fast lane of success.
The single ‘Not Listening’ is available for pre-order via iTunes
