Hi, what are you looking for?

Adenike’s self-titled EP is a masterful approach to Silky Afrobeats

British-Nigerian artist Adenikè has a masterful command over sultry afrobeats on her self-titled debut EP. The production across the EP is soft and silken, bleeding into the ambience of a late summer night or the lowlights of a bar. “Enough” is driven by infectious rhythms, which Adenikè surrenders to, letting her voice be carried along with the motions. “No Fool” picks up the pace, with gentle percussion giving the track a bounce as her vocals slip and slide effortlessly atop the beat. Adenikè has an instinct for creating mood through her music, and “Sweet Love” is a golden meditation on the rush of love her restless heart wrestles with – and at last, she gives in to the feeling.
