Tana releases nocturnal, understated pop track “Make It Up”

Tana’s latest track “Make it Up” brings nocturnal beats to hushed, pop-inflected vocals – a perfect soundtrack to the early hours. It’s both hushed and insistent with almost militaristic rhythms that draw the battle lines, with Tana’s own voice suspended above, light and haunting. To the ear, “Make it Up” seems understated but the effect it creates is musically complex. It shows promise of an artist who, despite having powerhouse vocals, has an appreciation that less is almost always more.
